The Conference Programme Committee for the 20th Annual Conference of the ESC invites you to submit an abstract for oral or poster presentation. All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference Programme Committee. All accepted abstracts will be published electronically. Please note: all presenters must be fully registered for the conference.

  • The ESC Board reunited online on May 16, 2020 and decided to postpone the EuroCrim2020 Conference in Bucharest to September 2021, due to the global pandemic context. The decision was taken with great sadness, but we are convinced that it is the best way to protect all our members during these times.

  • The following conference will thus take place on 8-11 September 2021 in Bucharest, Romania.

  • In early June we will be back with details about an alternative online event, free for ESC members, in order to gather our community in September 2020. We will then provide more information on the submitted abstracts for Bucharest conference, as well as on the registration fees some of you have already paid.

Key Dates:

  • Abstracts submission period opens 01 February, 2020

  • Abstracts submission deadline 15 April 2020 - extended to 1 June 2020

  • Early bird registration deadline: 01 June, 2020 - extended to 15 June 2020

Presentation Types:

Authors can choose between three types of presentations:

  • Pre-arranged Panel Session (each panel should normally contain between three and four presentations)

  • Oral Presentation (max. 15 minutes)

  • Poster Presentation

Important requirement

PRESENTING AUTHORS OF ACCEPTED ABSTRACTS MUST PRE-REGISTER AND PAY FOR THE CONFERENCE BY THE EARLY BIRD DEADLINE (01 JUNE 2020). Only fully registered delegates can present at the conference and will have their abstracts included in the programme.

Each participant is limited to one presentation as first author (for oral or poster presentation), but may be co-author of other presentations. Note: Abstracts which are a part of a Pre-arranged Panel Session are excluded from this limitation. Please keep your abstract short (maximum 1500 characters, with spaces). We encourage participants to submit Pre-arranged Panel Sessions whenever possible in order to ensure a proper distribution of abstracts in the Final Programme.

ESC Working Groups that wish to organize a meeting during the conference should submit this as a normal thematic panel of their working group. The title should clearly label it as a working group meeting and the abstract should provide relevant information to the conference participants. Authors could be the working group chairs. This information will be included in the final program.

Roundtable sessions can be submitted as a single thematic panel with or without papers clearly identifying it as a roundtable in the title. The organizer should at least be included as the author of that panel. Participating discussants could also be included as authors for that panel.

All submissions must be in English, the official language of EUROCRIM 2020. All presentations based on accepted abstract submissions must be made in English. Please use your academic e-mail address when you enter your personal data.

Each presenting author is responsible for the payment of the registration fee(s), as well as travel and accommodation costs.

Presenting authors should respect the programme's schedule (no changes will be made).

Participants should plan to attend the whole meeting. Presentations are scheduled from 9 September, 2020 until 12 September, 2020.

Presenting authors unable to attend the EUROCRIM 2020 may be substituted by a co-author. In case of impossibility, please inform as soon as possible the organizers using the email address
